The President's Commission on Race and Ethnicity and Soku DeNova Records invite you to a performance-competition on April 25th, 2007 to celebrate cultural diversity and foster cross-cultural dialogue. The theme of this competition is FUSION: it will require pairs of performance groups or individuals to collaborate and perform pieces that will highlight their distinct cultural styles and artitistic genres.

Panelist include Emory alumni, former administrators,
and others who worked to integrate Emory. The Honorable Marvin
S. Arrington Sr. 67L, Charles C. Haynes 71C 85 PhD, Verdelle
B. Bellamy 63N, J. Henry Ambrose 69C, and Delores P. Aldridge,
former Chair of African-American Studies at Emory, are among
the distinguished panelists. The discussion is moderated by
Provost Earl Lewis.

Month Film: "Mighty Times: The Legacy of Rosa Parks"

The film recounts the story of Rosa Parks, who sparked a revolution to freedom
when she refused to yield her seat to a White passenger on a Montgomery, Alabama
city bus. This film uses historical footage, examines this moment in the Civil
Rights Movement, and offers the story of everyday people whose example is important
to activists today. Sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Programs and Services
